options.MaxPlayers = RetainID.Humans; Cannot implicitly convert type `string' to `byte'

as the title says there.
I can not convert string to byte? when I put say 10 in place of RetainID.Humans this works fine but 10 is not a byte either so I dont get why it would work?

any help would be greatly appreciated
